Model repair and slicing questions

Does PrintNext have built-in 3D model repair?

Yes. Prepare Studio includes Repair and Advanced Repair. Repair fixes common mesh problems while preserving the existing shape. If issues remain, Advanced Repair reconstructs damaged surfaces to close holes and create a watertight mesh. Compare the result before applying it; your original model is retained.

What does Advanced Repair fix?

Advanced Repair rebuilds damaged surfaces when the first repair leaves problems such as open edges or non-manifold geometry. It is especially useful for organic and AI-generated models. Recheck model health after repair and inspect the result, including fine details and intentional openings, before continuing.

Can I slice single-color and multicolor models online?

Yes. Prepare Studio integrates OrcaSlicer with compatible printer, nozzle, quality, and filament profiles. Choose support settings, walls, infill, and layer height, then inspect the generated layers. Multicolor slicing includes filament changes and a prime tower when required by the selected setup.

Does Prepare Studio use my printer and filament inventory?

Your saved printer is matched to an available Orca printer and nozzle profile, and its build volume sizes the plate. Matching available PLA colors can use your inventory spools; other unassigned colors default to Generic PLA using compatible printer settings. Review your physical printer and loaded materials before slicing.

What can I save or export?

Save your model and preparation settings to Workspace, download an STL or supported color 3MF, or export G-code after slicing with the selected printer profile. G-code is specific to that setup. Review per-filament usage and choose whether to deduct inventory when recording a print; saving or downloading alone does not deduct stock.

How does Prepare Studio fit with Sculpt and Color Studio?

Create a model, refine its shape in Sculpt Studio, assign colors in Color Studio, then open the saved model in Prepare Studio to repair, position, slice, and export it. You can also start directly with an STL or supported 3MF. Hosted Advanced Repair and Orca slicing require sign-in.

One finishing workflow
